Dica útil - Solução para prolongar a vida dos arranhadores dos gatos / Useful tip - Solution to extend the life of scratching poles

E o Loki aprovou!

Now the gym has 6 scratching areas. Six! While Sygin does ude the six of them, Loki insists that he only likes one! Resulting in a ruined scratcher!

Nothing that can’t be resolved, though. The man of the house took off what was no longer usable and repaired the scratching post with sisal rope. It’s great! And Loki approved!

Latas decoradas / Decorated tin cans

I hate waste and so I always try to reuse what we already have, either by giving it a new use, just want a new look. In this way, I not only save money, as avoid contributing to the waste of resources.

That’s what I did with the cans to organize our work space.

I used a few cans that my man had on his desk for years. I know it's the same for years, because in addition to always remember them, they’re cans with calendars (2000 and so ...). They are therefore durable and practical. Of course beautiful is what they were not and I can be practical for many things, but I can’t stop liking what’s fluffy and cute!

Beyond these cans, I also made use of other tin cans from food products (which I got from my mother and grandfather, as here at home products that come in a can are rare).

Ora portantos, recorri aos meus tecidos e fitas.

Therefore, I turned to my fabrics and ribbons.

Eu fiquei satisfeita com o resultado final. E vocês, o que acham?

I was pleased with the final result. And you, what do you think?

Here's another saving tip, which can sometimes be forgotten - always remove your laptop battery!

I know there are already many models in which the battery is attached and there is nothing to do... For others, however, the battery should only be used when there is no possibility to plug your laptop.

Most of all, avoid having the laptop plugged in and the battery attached – You’ll be spending more energy unnecessarily.

Thus, the battery should be put to charge when we’re using the notebook, and as soon as it’s charged, taken out and packed up.

This way, we know that when there’s the need, we have the battery ready to use (and already in the laptop bag, as not to be left behind!).

In addition to saving in the electricity bill, you also extend the battery life time!

Dica de poupança: cozer grão (e outras leguminosas) / Saving tip: cook chickpeas (and other legumes)

         1)      Lavar bem o grão e separar todos os grãos que não estejam em condições, bem como impurezas;
         2)      Deixar de molho de um dia para o outro (cerca de 12 horas);
         3)      Cozer na panela de pressão COM sal – leva cerca de 15 minutos depois de a panela ganhar pressão;
         4)      Escorrer e guardar em porções utilizáveis.

- Com uma parte, fiz hummus;
- Outra, comemos com bacalhau cozido;
- Outra, fez parte de um arrozinho de bacalhau;

One thing that I no longer buy in the supermarket, are canned legumes. Apart from the waste of packaging, the truth is that it compensates financially to buy them dry.

And it doesn’t mean a lot of work!

Thus, for chickpeas:

    1) Wash the chickpeas and separate all grains that aren’t good and impurities;
    2) Let them soak overnight in water (about 12 hours);
    3) Cook in a pressure cooker WITH salt - takes about 15 minutes after the pan gets pressure;
    4) Drain and store into usable portions.

For example, the last time I baked chickpeas, a package of 500 grams was enough for four functions:

- Some of it, I used to make hummus;
- Another, we ate with cod;
- Another was part of a cod rice;
- And finally, another portion was frozen and then used in a chickpeas and spinach soup!

So, does it pay or what?

The same goes for other legumes.

PLEASE NOTE, that to cook beans, it must be done WITHOUT salt, and then seasoned after cooking.

Viva o sling!

E por aí, alguma futura mamã a desenvolver ódio a escadas?

If there's one thing that kills me now that I'm pregnant, are the stairs!

I tell you, it’s almost enough to convince me that since I got pregnant someone sneaky have been doing construction work on the stairways just to meddle with me! Because I can swear every stairway seems longer and with higher steps!

Every time I see a stairway I have to take a deep breath! Then grab my belly and I’m off!... Half flight of stairs! Wow, all that at once? Oh yeah, baby! Then I have to take a break and take another deep breath before venturing into the rest of the stairs!

What's worse is that the access to my building is all through stairs either on one side or the other! I can imagine how wonderful it will be with the baby carriage! Long live the sling!

Is there any future mummy developing an intrinsic hate of stairs?

Aquário de tartaruga prático e barato / Practical and cheap turtle aquarium

At the insistent request of the man we have a turtle. We both had turtles as kids, but although I was over it ... He really wish to have another turtle!

So, last year we got ourselves a turtle for the boy! It’s a Chinese three-keeled pond turtle, and it is kind of cute.

I just made a request - buy a male so it won’t grow so much ... But with baby turtles it’s difficult to guess correctly and now it seems that it is indeed female ... But we called it Sheldon Cooper, so it continues with the same name (occasionally, we say Sheldonia).

But well, the theme of this post is the aquarium! The typical glass aquariums are still a bit on the expensive side. We could managed with a borrowed one, but glass aquariums are very heavy and the hubby wanted to change its placement according to the sun.

Therefore, the solution found by the man (who is a good thinker) was a large plastic crate, usually use for storage. Decorated, and after adding the light (given), the filter and the thermometer, it was ready in no time! Sheldon approves and likes to do a little landscape of his (her!) own, changing the stones, shells and place plants!

Quem tem tartarugas, como faz?
