Aquário de tartaruga prático e barato / Practical and cheap turtle aquarium

A pedido insistente do homem temos uma tartaruga. Tanto eu, como ele tivemos tartarugas em miúdos, mas enquanto para mim era animal que já lá ia… Ele tinha mesmo vontade de voltar a ter uma!

Portanto, o ano passado lá arranjámos a tartaruga para o menino! É uma tartaruga chinesa de três quilhas, e até é engraçada.

So, last year we got ourselves a turtle for the boy! It’s a Chinese three-keeled pond turtle, and it is kind of cute.

Eu só fiz um pedido, que trouxesse um macho para não crescer tanto… Mas com as tartarugas bebés é difícil acertar e agora parece-nos que é fêmea… Mas já se chamava Sheldon Cooper, continuou com o mesmo nome (ocasionalmente, passa a Sheldónia).

I just made a request - buy a male so it won’t grow so much ... But with baby turtles it’s difficult to guess correctly and now it seems that it is indeed female ... But we called it Sheldon Cooper, so it continues with the same name (occasionally, we say Sheldonia).

Ora, mas o tema deste post é o aquário! Pois, os aquários de vidro ainda são um bocado puxadotes. Nós até conseguíamos um emprestadado, o que é é que os aquários de vidro ficam pesadíssimos e o homem pretendia mudá-lo de sítio consoante o sol.

Assim sendo, a solução, encontrada pelo homem (que é bom pensador), foi um caixote de plástico grande, daqueles de arrumação. Decorado, acrescentando-se a luz (dada), o filtro e o termómetro, ficou pronto num instante! O Sheldon aprova e gosta também ele (ela!) de fazer decoração paisagística, mudando as pedras, conchas e plantas de lugar!

But well, the theme of this post is the aquarium! The typical glass aquariums are still a bit on the expensive side. We could managed with a borrowed one, but glass aquariums are very heavy and the hubby wanted to change its placement according to the sun.

Therefore, the solution found by the man (who is a good thinker) was a large plastic crate, usually use for storage. Decorated, and after adding the light (given), the filter and the thermometer, it was ready in no time! Sheldon approves and likes to do a little landscape of his (her!) own, changing the stones, shells and place plants!
